Default 4x4 to 2x4 trans conversion

I have a 1994 f150 2wd with the mazda transmission. The trans was bad when I got the truck and there are no 2x4 trans less than 200k miles/less than $750 in my state however I can find several 4x4 trans with less than 140k miles for $500. If i can find a tailshaft on ebay or somewhere, do i just unbolt the 4x4 spacer and bolt on the 2x4 tailshaft or do i have to pull the trans apart to change the output shaft?

yes the trans must be disassembled to swap the output shafts.

Where? The closest thing I found was $200 but that's an r1 from an explorer. Found a few r2 for $400 but they are 4x4
