ZThats odd, i couldnt find any vids either. You dont have to use air tools, just easier. A decent size breaker bar will most likely come in handy. A piece of pipe makes for a good cheater bar btw. I dont know what size the bolts are but and decent size mechanic kit will have what you need. Also most important is a spring compressor tool. People will tell you a hundred different ways how to remove without this tool but stick with the tool as its alot safer. You can usually borrow the tool from an auto parts store instead of paying 70-100 bucks for one. If i happen to come across a vid ill link it here. Good luck

On your year model it's easy so long as all the bolts aren't rusted junk, a can of penetrating oil will make the job easier if not possible.

There is one clip on the top of each spring attached to the seat, no compressor is needed, jack up the truck until both front tires are completely off the ground, pull the wheels and get a good look how the spring is held to the I-beam. That large nut on top of the big washer needs to come off.

With the truck fully supported by jack stands on the frame you can now use your floor jack to support the I-beam under the spring, jack up a little so the tension of gravity is removed from the spring/shock/beam.

Remove the top clip bolt and turn the clip sideways to remove that, now remove that large nut inside the spring at the I beam take the washer out, remove the shock.

Now lower the floor jack and the spring will literally fall out.

Replace in reverse order. Not having air tools will make the job quite difficult but is doable with a breaker bar and cheater pipe, just take your time.

No spring tool required. Only special tool required is a floor jack.

Thanks! I believe it's all original, so I pray I can break the nuts and bolts loose. Don't have any access to air tools.

i was just trying to save him from a sprung spring flying out if he lowered the jack too fast, or something else went wrong. I was guessing he was inexperienced since he asked the question and it would make it a little easier on install for him.

The spring is under no tension with the suspension hanging other than the weight of the I beam, with the shock removed and the jack let out the spring will just fall over/out.

No need to apologize, safety first. I talked to a buddy earlier today said he doesn't like doing the job cuz he got hit by a spring before. I'm no mechanic, but neither am I dumb lol. I was thinking, if I could u the jack to compress the spring to remove it, and he just confirmed I could. Thanks to both of you guys.
