Default Steering and Handling

How to improve the steering and handling of my 94 2x4 regular cab long box. The steering is really sloppy so im wondering if there is a swap i can do to tighten it up or if i can just make it manual steering instead of power steering. Also im looking to improve the handling and response. What is the best way to make the truck handle better and improve the suspension. Ie best lowering setup and kits. Please advise.

Even with all new steering parts, there will always be a little play and slop in the steering. Thats just how they were designed. Replacing the power steering fluid to some ATF with some Lucas does make it a little bit firmer.

Define little.

I replaced everything and still get a good 30 degree play per side.

I got a 100% brand new steering box about 4 years ago (hard to tell now its so rusted) and I had maybe a few degrees back and forth. Maybe 6 months later I was getting more slop cause the box was breaking itself in. Even with all new steering parts and alignment, I can drive and let go of the wheel in a straight line but there is always slop.

Its just how they were designed, don't know if there are any mods that can be done for different steering boxes or a steering rack. But new fluid makes it allot better, and I was wondering if an after market cooler would work nicely to stiffen up the slop.
