Squeaky wheel
I've got a '95 XLT 302 RWD with a squeaky front driver's side wheel. At first I thought it might be a stuck caliper because I can really only hear the squeak at lower speeds, the speed corresponds to wheel speed, and as soon as I apply the brake at all the squeak goes away. So I inspected my brakes last weekend - pads looked surprisingly good, lubed up the slide pins and put a little anti-seize on all the contact points. There did look like there was a little rust on the edges of the piston but they didn't seem like they were bound up. So now I'm beginning to think maybe it's a bad wheel bearing. I'm going to try and put in new ones as soon as the parts come in. I guess even if that's not the source of the problem, the parts were cheap enough and it'll be a good learning experience for me. So just in case it's NOT the wheel bearing, any ideas what else it could be?
