Default F150 spring swap

Good evening friends. I have spent the day browsing this forum and have arrived at the conclusion that its time to take some coil and leaf springs off of an f250 and replace the worn ones in my f150. I have a 94 f150 xlt 4x4 5.0 ext cab shortbed. I just have a few questions.
Which years and types of f250's should I look for?
Are any special tools needed to take with me to the yard to pull off the coil springs?
Should I grab anything other than the coils and leafs while I'm there?
Thanks in advance for your help.

everything is bolt in, just bring the right size wrenches and sockets. pulling the leafs/coils are pretty straightforward. just find a 92-97 f250 2wd.

why not just buy new? used springs on these trucks get very weak fast as they are sub-cheap materials.

For a new set of coils it's around $70. New set of leafs are $260. St. Louis U-Pick a Part charges $10 for each coil and $16 for each leaf. Plus they have a huge selection so there will be many 250s from which I can choose.

On my way to the yard I decided to just get the leaf springs used. The moog springs are variable rate and only a bit more for what will last much longer. Hope there's a decent set...

Have you seen a picture of a F150 with F250 leaf springs? I remember a member posted some, had to have lifted the rear a good 3". It takes a lot of lift to make the front proportional.

3"? I was under the impression I would get maybe 2. Will I need longer shocks or brake lines with them?

What a crazy day yesterday. Finally got the new brackets, shackles, and leafs in. You all were right. It sits a full three inches higher even with broken-in springs from a 97. Moog coils are on the way and a leveling kit and brake lines and shocks are short to follow. If I had to take one lesson from this it would have to be to make sure I have enuf acetylene and oxygen for the torch.
