Default Anyone ever replace front brake lines?

The pedal was going to the floor with about 1" of usable brake. After checking the master cylinder for leaks, I went to each wheel. I figured if there was a leak at the wheel(s), it would be easy to spot...nothing. I had my 2 yr old son push the pedal and fluid was shooting from the driver side front line (see pic) towards the oil filter. Never did any brake work on it before, and I wasn't sure if the lines were original or aftermarket. Autoparts store only sells rubber and hard line.Any part number would be great, or a better way to fix this problem. Thinking while I'm at it replace all of them... not sure yet.

Looks like you will need a new flex hose, clip and piece of brake line to that tee block. Not sure on part # for the flex hose, but that piece of brake line can easily be made.

Safe to say I could bend up some hard line going into the T, and try to get a new flex hose to replace the bad one? Not 100%, but I think I may have to cut it off. Pretty rusty there if you couldn't tell from the pic. Do autopart stores carry them? Like said before, they said rubber or hard, no flex...

Well the rubber one is what goes to the front brake caliper, generally called a flex hose or a caliper brake line. Its all 1 piece as you can see in the picture, then spliced into that small brake line to the Tee. Parts store should have that and then buy a small piece of brake line to bend. Be sure its the same length as the one you cut off.

My rubber hose is fine. With the one pictured, since I cant really see anything in that area moving, just bend up a hard line? I have done it before (a while ago). Is yours a flex line like that or plain hard line? AP store sells it in 4' lengths for about $6. Plenty of practice room! lol.

Not sure what you mean, but you will need to replace that rubber/flex line cause that fitting with be all corroded up and you won't be able to get a new brake line in there.

This is what you need, and a short piece of brake line.

Sylver- the one you have pictured is the line running to the caliper. That runs from the caliper to the frame, through the frame, and into a 4 way little box(proportioning valve I think). I don't need the one from the caliper. I need the one from the proportioning valve to the frame. I will try to get a better pic.

Default Listen to experience

I just had the same issue. I thought that I could just replace the line where the leak was. When I did that and was able to build pressure again, the line on the other side blew out. My advice, replace the hard lines and flex lines on both sides. It really isn't expensive just a giant pain in the you know what.

Thanks for the advice brutus. Sylver, The image that you posted shows the line that leads to/from the caliper. I circled the area where that line goes into the frame. where it come out on the other side (engine bay) is where mine is leaking. Like mentioned above, If I can find another line like it has, I may try to go with the hard lines...

*** if at all possible, could someone take/show me a picture of what theirs looks like? here is a broad picture of my. I just would like to compare.
