89 Caliper Guide Pins
New here and haven't found an answer to my question. I apologize if I'm missing it somewhere.
I'm replacing the front brake calipers on my truck. It uses the guide pins which are driven in place, not the usual slide bolts (pic below). I bought rebuilt Ford calipers from Advance Auto Parts. They came with new guide pins. Trouble is, they seem to be too big. The ones that came out (which, of course, I threw away. Idiot!) were about half the size and looked as though they were sort of folded over on themselves. I know I'm missing something. I'm desperate for any tips or tricks. TIA

I'm wondering if these pins are available ANYWHERE?..Surely somebody must carry them.. the guide pins are a must have for the early 86-89 calipers ..correct?.. Thanx!
Bought a set of new calipers and they have new PINS!! Wow ..that's great! Since looking for some online nobody has them,,My A.Z. commercial guy did not say they came with them..Thanx Autozone!

The pins have a rubber insert that compresses as the pins are inserted
New pins go in tight
The trick is to angle the pins to get them to start compressing as you hammer them in
They even make a special tool for removal that compresses the pins to allow them to come out easier
That special tool needs to be angled in there to get it to work properly too
