Default Engine tick/knock

I have a 2002 Ford F-150 with 183,000 miles and recently I’ve noticed it’s started making a ticking/knocking noise if I could have some info on this and how to fix it that’d be great.

May help to indicate what engine you have. Also maybe describe the ticking/knocking better or post a video of it.

Okay, that helps some. I’ll take a guess with the number of miles. Maybe time for a timing job. Hopefully others will chime in with other ideas.

Maybe, if this thread was in the forum for those engines. This is the V8 subforum of the pre-'97 section. IOW: smallblocks - not modulars.
