You really need to provide much more vehicle information.Saying you are buying gas every three days doesn't mean anything. So I am going to provide some vague areas to check.
1. is the maintenance up to date per the vehicle's maintenance schedule in the manual?
2. Are the tires properly inflated to specs? What size are your tires?
3.Are you driving aggressively and at excessively high speeds? Are your trips short where the engine doesn't really get warmed up? Highway or city driving?
4.Are you loading up your truck with heavy loads?
5. any codes present?
6. is the transmission slipping?
7. what's your rear ends gear ratio?
8. you could quickly check to see if your engine is running excessively rich from a failed fuel pressure regulator. Replace it ONLY if gas leaks out of its vacuum nipple.
These are just general questions with the little information you provided.
I hope others will chime in with suggestions once you provide more information.

2. stock for both
3. probably, my engine does get warm and most of its highway
4. no
5. 332(rc EGR valve opening not detected), 542(oc Fuel Pump circuit open - EEC processor to pump motor (no ground with FP relay OFF)), 628(rc Excessive converter clutch slippage)
6. the tcc is slipping
7.3.55
8. i could try that

Drive something smaller, newer, more fuel-efficient than an antique fullsize pickup that was engineered when gas was ~$1/gal. That's meaningless. Is the truck sitting parked most of that time? Or is it being driven cross-country hauling/towing? Are you refilling from empty when you get gas, or are you just buying a few gallons each time? Are you buying E0 (pure) gas, E10 (common), or E90?How are you calculating it? Based on the trip odometer between fillups? Or based on the needle position when you buy a few gallons every few days? Is the odometer accurate?Calibrate the odometer; keep the tires at the correct pressure; remove any unnecessary weight from the truck; drive like there's a tall wine glass on the dash that you don't want to spill (gentle acceleration/braking/steering); reset the trip odometer when you FILL up, and divide its previous miles by the TOTAL number of gallons since the last FILL-up; buy gas - not ethanol mix; follow the maintenance schedule using only top-quality parts & fluids according to published procedures; read this whole page:

From the factory, or did someone remove the front tank? You should put ALL the truck's details & history (as much as you know) into your signature so it shows with each post, as this page explains:

Phone apps don't always show signatures, so you may need to switch to a real browser in desktop mode on your phone, or just use a desktop/laptop computer. Put your location (nearest city) in your profile & upload an avatar of the truck. The more pics you post (NOT in your sig) of the truck, engine, wiring, labels, & undercarriage, the more likely we can help you. Not all its details are relevant to these issues, but you don't necessarily know which ones are relevant, so just put everything in now.Really? What & when (time/miles) was the last service done to it? What parts & fluids were used? That's meaningless. There were a dozen "stock" tires, and each truck's recommended pressures (front & rear) could be different. What speed do you normally drive on the highway? No, a missing tank wouldn't cause any DTC. When you list code numbers, include the COMPLETE definition for each one so each of us doesn't have to go look them up. This page contains all & only the codes that apply to these trucks:

How do you know? Why haven't you fixed it? That alone will cause low MPG.What did you find?

No, its not sitting parked most of the time its being driven to and from both my high school and college everyday I'm refilling from around 1/8 of a tank because my fuel gauge moves depending if I'm turning or on a hill.
