Took my dog up to hike the falls, 8 miles away. 96 w/4.9l 6 fired right up and drove fine on the front tank. Hiked then got back in the truck. Fired right up but idled like crap and wouldn't go over an idle. Put in gear drove 20 feet no change so I stopped and it stalled. Fired back up, still lousy idle so I flipped to the rear tank and it ran fine. Started off then switched back to the front tank and it continued to run fine all the way home. Thoughts? Thanks.

 

Check fuel pressure with a gauge, for each tank.
