I found that a few days ago, I was hoping to find a good one for the fx-r projector. I've seen some quick videos on the interweb with different headlights buckets, but it doesn't seem too difficult. Still can't decide between d2s 3.0 or the fx-r

Thats a great writeup for the 09-14 headlights.

I didn't have any issues fitting my Minis into my 07 headlights since they are both round. But the 09+ lights may need a little fine-tuning (as shown in the link above) to get the projector to sit flush against the back of the housing.

I think the FXR with the 3" lens would look better in the big F150 headlights than a mini with a 2.5" lens but I don't think I want to do that much drilling/cutting/fitting. I'm hoping a mini H1 or D2S with a bigger shroud will help fill out the headlight enough where it looks proportional.

I found this one on the Mini DS2, I think I will probably go this route and make the holes a bit bigger. I want to get the shrouds as close to the reflector bowl as possible. I will have to wait and see once I have the TRS kit in hand. I found a set of use headlights on CL for $100 so just waiting on getting this list filled up!

Here's some on the FXR, great pictures for reference.

I'm not to concerned about the looks, I've just read the fx-r are a bit wider. I drive thru montana, idaho and wyoming alot so I need a performance upgrade not an estetic one lol but I'm sure the d2s is s big upgrade

The FX-R will provide more light output all around than the H1/D2S, but it's up to you if the extra work is worth it. I say it's 10-20% better, but the Minis are 150% better than the stock halogens.

Here is a good comparison

Wow, that's an interesting comparison. I'm starting to lean toward the mini H1 kit now.

Put me down for a FX-R kit. If I'm going to do a retrofit might as well go all out.
