I've read about some using tape over part of the housing. Not sure if it was on the inside or out, but it stopped all the light from shining on the talegate with the 15+ trucks.

Yeah I'm running the resistors from Diode Dynamics. Super easy installation except they don't provide the double sided tape to mouth them. Without the resistors, my dash lights would hyperflash but outside signal was normal. Now that I installed them, everything's normal

I know what you mean, but I honestly like how that light shows the tailgate body styling at night. You know that line that's going across horizontally. I dig it. Almost looks like an accent light

It's my hazards that were on and I was out of my truck taking the picture. But now I do wanna upgrade my 3rd brake light

While mine is a 2008, I have the Zevo leds in my front directionals, reverse, tail lights, and tag lights.

Side marker and TBL are jdm astar and headlights are 4x4truckleds.

No, they are not, but I have been running them for months and have not been pulled over yet.......

Good question, I know the Phillips leds have similar rearward facing led and are dot.
