Recently installed new switchback headlights on the truck. However, I’m getting a hyper flash on the turn signals. I’ve checked the wiring, connections, and tried resistors. No luck. Anyone have thoughts?
Old thread but I just installed aftermarket headlights, started with Spyder Chrome & now Akkon Smoked/Blk both with the LED turn tubes. The Chrome looked good but as soon as I fired the truck up, the pass side tube running/turn led goes out. I sent them back.
Installed the Akkon units & they work great, LOOK even better in my book for a 2018 STX Eco. Now if I can only figure out the adjuster screws. So much bad intel on this subject that I almost put my LED's back in the stock housing and sent the 2nd pair back but I am giving them another try today to get adjusted.
I did find out that you can run LED bulbs in the "halogen" only housings as long as the bulbs are 1:1 to OEM 55w bulbs. Why they sell lights that are labeled as halogen bulbs only I don't get since they are the only bulbs I have seen burn the wiring or housing, LED bulbs draw less amps, 400 times brighter.

Thanks!
My guess is very inexpensive headlights that didn't take the time to build their electronic boards properly. Newer trucks require more then just slapping some aftermarket headilghts in. they require additional components to deal with hyperflashing and electrical issues. That's why brands like Morimoto/Diode Dynamics/AlphaRex cost more as they integrate circuitry to combat this issue.
I don't have an answer for you other then those headlights are having a resistance issue.
