Default Reverse Lights

Did a search and came up empty, is there a decent revers light that I can add to my truck. The reverse camera is nice during the day but at night there are a lot of shadows right where the hitch is and it is hard to see the hitch and trailer tongue. Thanks.

Maybe some weatherproof LED strip tied into your reverse lights? This one fits where your plate mounts and would light up your hitch, don't know how bright it is though.

Here is another one.

Those would probably work, the first one looks better, the second one looks like it is designed to shine down on the plate but still may work. I installed the LED backup lights and they definitely brighten things up but, there is still a major shadow right where the hitch is. Going to try to get the second set of lights installed when I get a chance.

The second one is adjustable. Adjust it down to light up the plate or toward the back to light up your hitch more. Also, throw some LEDs in your reverse lights if you haven't already.

I put a cheap led cube under the bumper and tapped into the trailer lights so that every time I put the truck into reverse it would come on, worked flawlessly and lit up the whole neighborhood.

PS...this was my truck up until a few days ago when I traded it for a 2018 Lariat 4x4 with Sport Appearance Pkg and 3.0 Powerstroke

I did not think about it but the 5th wire on the flat plug I believe is the reverse signal used fire a solenoid for preventing surge brakes from locking up when backing. That wire probably has enough capacity to avoid the hot wire and relay set up. Anyway, this is what I ended up doing on mine.

I installed these yesterday from Diode Dynamics in my 2018 XLT. HP48 280 Lumens version. Huge difference for the back up camera.

Can you post a picture of the light output for these? I’m curious how bright they actually are, given the low price tag.
