Default Replace or paint stock headlight housing??

Ok, I have an 08 Lariat that is pearl white. I am going for a white/black theme. I really want to paint the inside of my headlight housing black, leaving only the reflectors unpainted. I have read a couple of threads about how much of a pain it is to get the lenses off, and I also worry about being able to seal them back correctly. I have already decided I am going to smoke my tail lights and 3rd break light with some Nite Shades and clear coat. But I don’t want to smoke the front headlights because I just got a set of 35 W 5000K HID lights from Jon_To and I need as much light as I can get at night. Replacement headlight housings are about $160-$220 online (non projector styles). I am wanting to do as much of my build as possible minus suspension/breaks or anything else that might kill me if I screw it up... Can I hear the good, bad and ugly stories about painting the inside of the housing? It’s such a visible area that I don’t want to screw them up/not seal them completely. Any help/build threads would be awesome.

Dont use niteshade!!!!! My friend just used nite shade on his focus. After about 3 light light coats. Wetsanding with 800 grit, 1200 grit, and 1400 grit(i think), and 10 coats of clear coat they still look like crap. And they dont look smooth. Nite shade sucks
