Light Kit for running boards
Super bright also for half the price
Which wire did you use for the running board lights when you open the doors?
Just installed F150m LEDS running board leds on a 2016. The instruction to use grey/violet stripe. That did not work. It also says you can use the solid violet wire for + but that does not work either.
How did you do?

Was it A Solid Purple wire???
Unfortunately I am color-blind, I didn't connect the wires, but my friends they, I believe connected the wiring under the kick panel and connected it to the fuse box on the passenger side under the glove box on the right side. Sorry for your difficulties.
I have a 2021 STX supercrew and I am trying to find a wire to tap into for power for running board lights. The instructions that came with the light kit had wire colors listed up to 2020 model year, but not for 2021 and the wire colors are def. different. has anyone found power at the passenger door kick plate (rear or front) that will work for this application? The grey/violet wire does not exist or does not work for this application. I can find wires that supply constant power, but none that will turn on and off with the door lights. I think I have tested just about every wire in the bundles at the kick plates and nothing seems to work. Please help. Thanks so much.

If some of you are just wanting lights coming on with the dome/courtesy lights. A good way I've used on 2 trucks, is to tap into the cargo lights at the rear of the cab.
Remove the CHMSL fixture, let it dangle for an aiming point, and stick a somewhat stiff wire through the seam at the back of the headliner,, and aim for that fixture. May take a couple times, and a little searching up there, but eventually you'll find the wire you stuck through there. Power wire is easily hidden by headliner and trim pieces down to the cable tray under the sill plates on either side. Grab a ground at any convenient point.
