Default LED light strip

I recently ordered and installed a ni-light tr-04 light strip under my tailgate. Plugged it in using the supplied 4 pin flat connector to my trailer hookup beside license plate as directed. It works well but, I keep getting messages on my dash cluster saying trailer is connected and then it will say trailer is disconnected. Keeps going back and forth. Anyone else have this issue? This is on my 2020 f150 stx 4x4.

May need a bypass module, or hardwire to tail lights.

The bypass module does NOT work, they even sort of say so now on their website. You have to wire it to the tail lights.

I hard wired mine into the taillights, real easy to do, didn't want to have the look of something plugged in the bumper, be sure to use dielectric grease
on your connections to keep out moisture.

You guys use posi-taps, solder, or something else?
I have running board lights to install and am heading towards headlights with my wiring…and the cargo lamps

I used posi-taps and dialectic grease. Putco says they will have a plug-and-play harness in August (wouldn't bet on it) and I'm trying to get boosted to come up with a harness for it.

I also talked with another vendor about modifying a product they already make to work. If that pans out I'll post it up but not until then.
