LED Headlights options for 2018 models
#51
While DD SL1's were not for me (I wont go into that again, read above) I would like to comment on Diode Dynamics customer service it was quite good. Expectations were clearly established for delivery and subsequently met, they honored the return policy without issue. Lastly the overall performance of the lights was very very good. I would not hesitate to recommend them as a company even if we parted ways for now.

would you be willing to sell your ‘18 F-150 black oem headlights w/ballasts? I’m looking for a pair. Private message me and we can try to work something out where I can get your lights and you can get the new Morimoto headlights you want.

Does anyone have a better contact for Retro Customz other than what’s listed on their website? I’ve tried emailing them three times over the last couple weeks with no response. No luck with the phone number listed either.
I forget who posted the pictures of the headlights they did for someone on here with the gray truck but that is the exact look I want.

Here's what I've done with my truck: 2018 XLT
High Beams: GTR Lighting https://headlightrevolution.com/2018...-gtr-lighting/
Low Beams: Supernova V.4 https://headlightrevolution.com/2018...supernova-v-4/
Fog Lights: Morimoto XB LED https://headlightrevolution.com/mori...ed-fog-lights/
Reverse Lights: 1000 Lumen GTR Lighting https://headlightrevolution.com/2018...e-1-000-lumen/
None of these lights flicker... on video they do, but I think that has to do with camera frame rates or something like that.
All of these are "Plug and Play" you don't need anything extra to make these work, they don't set off any alarms or codes or whatever.
High Beams and Low Beams are amazing. Even though they are different brands, the light color matches perfectly. Both High and Low Beams have great beam patterns. With the low beams you will want new dust covers as the OEM dust cover will not fit properly (85mm dust covers). High beams do not need new dust covers.
Morimoto fog lights are a little on the weak side as far as how bright they are, but they are better than what comes with the truck.
1000 Lumen reverse lights are amazing, they light everything up. They do not cause glare in the back up camera either.
I also put some LED's in my 3rd brake light above the bed of the truck I bought some cheapo ones off of amazon but they work great. I put a leveling kit on the front (2" spacers) so I did need to adjust my headlights a little bit so I wasn't blinding people.

Did you make sure that they were oriented correctly when you installed them?
The fin that the LED's are mounted on should be vertical when mounted in the headlight housing. Mine were oriented correctly from the manufacturer, but seeing how they are adjustable I can see them not being oriented correctly in some cases.

They were not vertical originally but I adjusted them before the test drive. The color is awsome; I do love the white light but overal light output on a dark rural road wasn't what I was hoping for.

Oh okay. Yeah, on rural roads without street lights I feel like they could be a little brighter, but that's when I use my GTR Lighting high beams and then night turns into day. ha. Even on the rural roads at night going 70mph with only supernova V.4 low beams on, I still don't feel like I'm outrunning my lights.
