Day time running lights?

Default Day time running lights?

Hey guys and gals, I have a question for ya. I have a 2014 XLT screw 4x4. I have the auto light function but I do not have day time running light. I'm hopin. There is a way that I can get day time running lights. Does anyone know of the way? Thanks

Don't know about your 14 but with my 15 with auto light feature you can turn DRL's on or off from the productivity screen the procedure is fully explained in the owner's manual.

Has to be turned on by someone with IDS, Fords diagnostic computer.

Ford needs to use their computer and enable DRL. You can have their head lights or marker lights. Had mine done in NY to get a reduction.

you mean to tell me my p.o.s company car Ford Escape has daytime runners out of the showroom floor, but I have to take my truck to the service dept. to have turned on?

Depends on year and model of vehicle and where it was purchased, if in Canada they all come turned on already as it is law up there.

Bought mine used, from a non-Ford dealer... It's a 13 FX4

I called the dealer where I purchased the truck and the service writer had no clue what the hell I was talking about.

If you search more I know someone posted about how to change it with the dealers computer. First the Deaaler would have to check the Vin and see if it can be done. Not all vehicles can be done.

Most service writers are simple secretaries, they answer the phones, greet customers etc...

Soon as I get a chance today, I'll post the how to with pics so you can school curious George service writer.
