Hello. I purchsed blue dash light bulbs for my 2005 F150 from Ebay

I cannot get them to work. I it seems that the bulbs are too long. When i was able to force on in it shorted and melted the black locking cap.
When I put the bulbs side to side the new ones are twice as long as the factory ones.
What am I doing wrong?

 

Well dude, there the wrong bulbs!! Hate to be like this, but if you forced them in and burned up the plastic clip I would say leave it alone.
