Angry 2014 Platinum Headlight Help

I'm new, sorry I haven't done an intro. I just need some advice from one of you who know much more than I.

Long story short, I have a '14 Platinum with a burned out headlight. I have premiumcare, and it is covered, but my dealer says it is out of inventory nationwide and cannot tell me when Ford will produce it again.

What do you recommend that I do to correct the problem? Full aftermarket replacement? Replace a specific part in the assembly?

Everything is stock, I think they are HID or projector? I'm just looking for a quick fix so I can get back to normal.

Thanks

You should be able to source new D3S bulbs from a local parts store or online. I get most of my lighting from DiodeDynamics and they sell these units.

Ok, so it is just the bulb? I was going to replace but when I took the headlight out it said something about service by dealer only. Sorry I'm not a mechanic but try to repair what I am capable of.

They are just a D3S bulb. Replace both sides. Buy from a reputable source online like diode dynamics or the retrofit source. Don't buy the cheap bulbs. Osram Xenarc 66340 are my preference...

Were you able to confirm it is a bad HID bulb and not the HID ballast?

I ordered bulbs but no, I did not check the ballast. There's probably a how to on YouTube, or I could just swap them side to side I guess to see. Thanks for the tip. Any other suggestions?

Short of a wiring gremlin, the only other thing I could think of is a blown fuse. I believe the HID headlights each have their own fuse.

Since you have the bulbs on order, that would be the first thing to swap. You will love an upgraded bulb regardless!
