Default X-Mas Tree!

Gonna need a bigger truck! This 13' tree is in diagonal towards the other side. Took 6 men to load...almost 500 lbs! This is def one of the very few times I wish I had an 8' bed!
When I went in to buy this truck in Jan, I wanted a club cab with the 8'. After sitting in the back seat, I changed my mind to the screw with the 5.5. No way I was going to attempt to pilot an screw with an 8'! My father has an screw/8 and it is a bitch to drive. Hell, I have trouble parking mine...have to back in nearly everywhere!

Next time, just leave the tailgate down and put a strap over the tree. That's what I do when I move longer items with the short bed.

That's a big tree. I'm sure you'll have fun wrestling it into your house!

What will be even more fun is when you take it down after Christmas. It will be nice and dried out and your attempt to pull through the house and out the 3' wide door will create about 6" forest floor for you inside your house. Gonna make your Dyson cry, or your wife one.

Next year go even bigger. You don't need a long bed truck. Just do like those Prius folks do. Roll down both side windows, lay tree across roof of truck and then ratchet strap through the cab and around the tree and cinch her down. :-)

Thats an awesome tree. Be sure and snap a pic once you have it up and decorated in its full glory.

PS. not sure where you live but that hill your parked on is beast, did you use 4x4? J/K

Tried tailgate down first. Too heavy aft. This was the best of the worst ideas!
Luckily the back of my living room has twin sliders with about an 8' opening. I still may have to do some creative trimming on its way out!
No need to strap it to the roof...just reach over and hang on!!!
Will try to remember to snap an after pic in a few days. That is if I am successfull at getting it into the house, AND vertical. Might just lay her down and decorate her! Lol
Hell, that is one our smaller hills here in the great mountain state of Florida.

haha, funny.
If you have an 8' slider in the living room and I assume its glass, here is the plan.
Leave in the back of the truck, back the truck up adjacent to the slider door and decorate while in the bed. When you want to see your decorated tree just open the blinds to the slider and bam, there she lays in all her glory along with your beautiful truck. Heck, you may could even string some lights down the truck side too just to add to the effect.

Day after Christmas you just drive to the dump, floor it in reverse and then slam on the brakes, all done. Leave tailgate down for drive back home and when you arrive all needles will be blown away and your truck is clean.
Your back will thank you too.

Very true. And just think...there was one point in my life that I was seriously in the market for a Humvee!

My buddy moved from Australia to Golden, CO to attend School of Mines. Really cool guy.

Had a crew cab nissan Titan and one night him and his school buddies went up into the mountains one night and cut down a proper christmas tree. Proper as in about 25' long or so! Put the base in bed up against tailgate and rested the tree on the cab where the third brake light is. The rest just kinda pointed up in the air lol

It was the christmas tree used in their dorm room lobby or whatever. Girl panties were the primary decoration.

While not my personal story - it does make me miss being young and enjoying life! Now we're adults and.. you know - "responsibility". Eh.

Who doesn't want to curl up in a sleeping bag under their Christmas tree to wait for Santa? You can even use your radio in the truck to play carols, crank it up so your wife will be able to hear from inside the house.

I'm no engineer here, just extremely lazy so I spend great efforts trying to figure out how not to work hard....this usually results in my also sleeping in my truck.
