Default Why so scared to tow??? Grow a pair!

Ok guys, help me out with something. Every so often I browse the internet to see what the latest "trend" is among F150 owners, and I gotta say, I've never seen so many weenies when it comes to towing. Is this yet another example of the wussification of American society? Has the red-blooded American male really become such a cautious wimp that he has to ask his forum buddies if his 2011 5.0L F150 can "tow my 19ft bow rider"??? Look, I am all for highway safety and following the proper towing etiquette, but damn! Sack up and use your truck for a change! I have a standard tow package and 3.31 gears, yet I still manage to tow my 8,000lb, 33ft Chris Craft Stinger across the Cumberland Plateau on a regular basis with no problem at all. Sure, I added airbags, and certainly keep in the slow lane, but I maintain a safe highway speed. I am just amazed at all of the F150 owners who brag about towing "a 6X12 trailer with 3 4-wheelers and a dirt bike with no problem as long as I am in tow mode"...Duh! Somebody else out there give me a good tow story that involves more than 7,000lbs....

Men who don't need help don't ask for it on internet forums.

I also can't brag about all the awesome stuff I do because most of it breaks the law.

I'd rather read about someone who isn't sure or experienced with towing ask a question on here to gain knowledge and maybe make them more confident about their trucks abilities. That's what this place is for.

Haha I never thought of it that way, but it still doesn't take away from the fact that apparently 1 out of 3 F150 owners is a sissy who has no business owning such a fine machine.

Well some people have never owned trucks before. Some have never towed before. People like me and you take towing a trailer for granted. I have no issues towing or knowing how to tow safely but others may not have the same experience or knowledge. Use your knowledge and ability to help others who ask questions in threads like that. Or simply ignore it and I'm sure someone will help them out

So your definition of a sissy is somebody who doesn't tow? And shouldn't own a truck because they don't tow? Your logic is rather flawed...

I'm all for helping, and have plenty of questions myself, my comments are more directed towards guys who post like they are experts and then tell tall tales of towing golf carts and mulch...'ll live it to the Senior Members, like you...

Senior member like me? I don't understand. I get what you're saying though about people who pretend to know what they are talking about and spread false information but the ones who genuinely dont know I try to help them out best I can

Nope, where'd you come up with that?I am simply pointing out the rather high number of postings I see where guys are asking questions that should be common sense; i.e "Can I tow an 19 ft boat with my f150" or "Towed my lawnmower today, with no problems"....
