Who actually uses the pro trailer back up assist?

I tried but the jack tube obscures the sticker when the trailer is turned toward the side opposite the sticker. Because the camera loses sight of the sticker, it's useless. It might work otherwise, and I'd try it if it did, but it's of no value to me as is.

I finally set up mine a month or two ago. I pull a 19' boat and for most purposes, I'm probably more adept at backing the trailer the traditional way. I imagine the backup assist would be especially helpful if one had never learned how to back a trailer by eye. I do think the backup assist is far easier for long, straight backups; get the trailer aimed in the right direction, and it will keep going that way forever (or until you adjust it).

It's Great
I just got my 2020 f150 a week or so ago. Have not put a trailer on it or set up the back up assist. Who in here actually uses it? I'm very experienced at backing up utility trailers, campers, and boats so wondering if it will be any benefit to the assist? So, let me know your experience! Thanks gang!
I have only used various U-Haul trailers. I slapped together a portable device to transfer the sticker from trailer to trailer, so I have to set it up again each time to get accurate measurements, but it's not hard.
It's fantastic for straight-line backing and relatively minor reverse turns, but if you have to make tight turns it'll disconnect and you'll have to proceed the old-fashioned way.
It is fun to watch in action . . . .
Have fun!

I recently acquired a boat and trailer, 25+ ft. Just went with it for a bit and did OK maneuvering at boat ramps and on our long, winding driveway through the woods. Then I took the time to set up the Pro Trailer Back-Up Assist - and yes, it was a bit of a pain getting the required measurements accurately, but following the instructions step-by-step got me there without too much difficulty - and now maneuvering at boat ramps and on our driveway is MUCH EASIER. What the Assist really excels at is 1) backing the truck and trailer up straight over a distance if such is required, without you having to touch the wheel or ****, and 2) backing the trailer up straight from whatever starting point even if the truck isn't yet aligned, again without you having to touch the wheel or ****.
I regularly park the trailer in a tight spot near the garage, right off of a tight circle in the driveway. Previously I had to try to line the truck AND trailer up straight and aiming at the desired spot as best I could despite that tight circle, making small correction after small correction after small correction and once in a while having to abandon an attempt and pull forward again to start at least partly over. Now I just drive around the circle until the trailer alone is aiming straight at the desired spot, turn on the Assist and leave the wheel and **** alone while it turns the truck as necessary to keep that trailer aimed just so while backing up. Much easier, and much faster, too.
