30ft Passport ultralight. Weighs somewhere around 6500.

With an equal-i-zer WDH it tows really well. I was towing it with a 2012 Chevy Avalanche and the F150 is night and day better in every category, except maybe fuel economy.

3.5 EB vs. 5.3 Chevy there is no comparison. The 3.5 EB pulls it with ease and never labors.
Braking and handling is better in the F150 too. In fairness the Avalanche was a bit shorter than the F150 so it's no shock the F150 would handle the trailer better.

The 3.5 EB gets slightly poorer fuel mileage than the 5.3 did when towing. The big fuel cell makes it a non issue for me.

My rig was filthy in the pic as I had just pulled it off my property after hunting season. Both truck and trailer normally look much better!

I bet if the 5.3 had to try to keep up with the EB the difference in mileage would disappear.

Most likely only with the old 5.3L. Both my 5.0L trucks, 2012 and 2016 with the 5.0L and 3.73, get between 10.5 mpg and 11.0 mpg. That is better than the average 3.5L Ecoboost trucks which get between 9 -10 mpg, pulling same size/weight travel trailers.

None towing, I get with the 2016, up to 22 mpg expressway, about 21 mpg with the 2012, and about 18.5 - 19 mixed, about 17.5 - 18 with the 2012. I get 1 mpg all the way around with the 2016 over the 2012.

^^^^This. Running empty my EB gets slightly better MPG than my old 5.3. Pulling the same trailer under the same conditions the EB gets about 1-2 MPG less. Again, not a big deal and the EB is light-years ahead of the 5.3 in every other category. Hope the EB will run as long as my old 5.3.

Boy that's a huge trailer, I'd be upgrading to a F250 for that one.

Good luck with it.
