Truck sitting too low for camper?
I have a 2wd Lariat, and from my understanding the 2wd trucks sit lower than the 4wd trucks. When hooked up to my camper, the camper doesn't sit level and I think it's because the truck sits too low. Would a lift, or maybe the Roadmaster active suspension resolve this? How much of a lift would I need?

I can't tell from my cell phone app, but is there a WDH being used? The truck doesn't look like is sagging to much. Tighten the WDH or raise the ball a notch or 2. The trailer does look nose down.
I like timbrens or supersprings.

Yes, it has a weight distribution hitch. The camper isn't very heavy, maybe 5000lbs at most. There is no vertical adjustment on the hitch, the only thing I can change is how many links on the chain are used for the weight distribution bars. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of the hitch setup.

Replace the hitch shank with one that puts the ball up higher. You don't need to modify the truck. Slightly nose down (yours looks a bit too much) works better than nose up, if you have to choose. The WDH settings you have look good for the truck's stance, but just get a shank (notice they list the drop or rise that each shank provides) that allows the ball to sit higher.

What is the brand of WDH that doesn't have a separate shank? I wouldn't mess with the truck, regardless, it looks set up quite well. Invest in a new WDH and you'll still come out cheaper. Kijiji is full of them here if you go used.
Or maybe a riser ball?

Under $250 gets you a new hitch with choices of different tongue weight options. I would do this before messing with the truck. The shank flips for higher ball height.

A riser ball seems like the cheapest and easiest solution so far. Would that interfere with how the weight distribution bars or the sway bar function?
I snapped a picture of the hitch I have. Not sure if brand, that has long ago worn off (hitch came with the camper when I bought it used)

I would just buy a new shank and hitch head and use your current spring bars. You need a trunnion bar head. Curt has one that will work with your current bars. I recently just bought one.

if the WDH is set up right, you hitch up the truck, but before putting the bars on, lock the ball on and jack up the trailer almost as high as it will go, then put the bars on. Then lower the trailer back down/off the tongue jack.
