Default Trailer break control problems!!!

Good morning,

I am having an issue where I can't find the answer to anywhere! I have the tow package on a 2016 ford f150 xlt that did not come with the TBC module. I bought the module and installed it and after doing so, I activated it in forscan. After doing this i connected my travel trailer to my truck and it shows in my dash cluster that a trailer has connected but when I activate my trailer break controller it says "no trailer". I have checked my 7 pin and fuzes and they all seem to be good. I have also replaced my TBC module and thinking that was the problem but it is not because I am getting the same message. If anyone could help I would be eternally greatful!

Default Trailer break control problems!!!

Good morning,
I tried posting this once but I don't think it ever posted.

I am having problems with my trailer breaks on my 16 ford f150 xlt. I have the tow package but it did not come with a tbc module. I installed a module and activated it through forscan. I am getting a trailer connection through my dash cluster but when I activate my tbc I get "no trailer" I know power is going to the trailer and breaks because all my lights work. Also when I hit about 5mph my trailer breaks lock up and I have to disengage my break and re-engage.

I have checked my fuses and they seem to be good. Also I checked the voltage to my 7pin and I am getting current to all the pins. The only thing is, when I check my breaks it throws out different voltage to gain when I use my tbc but when I use my actual break it throws out 7 volts no matter what gain I am at. I don't know if that's because I don't have a trailer connected and that's why I only get 7 volts or what.

I bought another tbc module thinking that was the problem but it is not.

I have looked everywhere and can't find answers so that's why I started this thread.

Edit:
I know it's my truck and not the trailer because I hooked my father's truck up to my trailer and his tbc module works with my trailer.

The parts you bought are they genuine Ford OEM parts? or a look-a-like? Lok-a-likes seem to give folks all sorts of problems with the Ford trailer brake control

My suggestion is to buy a genuine Ford OEM part and eliminate that as a possible cause of your problems. So far with folks who followed up their "i need help" post, buying OEM has solved their troubles 100% of the time

Do you have a genuine Ford ITBC? The Ford clones cause problems for most people.

I think your main issue is that your spelling it wrong.
