Default Trailer Brake issues

Needing some feedback. I have a 2014 F-150 STX 4x4 with the towing package, 5.0 V8. I have issues with the factory trailer brake system. The manual override will activate the trailer brakes but using the brake pedal will not. The dealership has replaced the factory brake controller but it has not corrected the problem. I plugged in a Reese aftermarket controller and get the same results. All fuses are good and the trailer brakes just fine behind my dad's truck...Any ideas?

How do you know it's not braking? It brakes proportionally to how hard the brakes are applied, so you may not feel. It should basically feel the same as empty if the gain is set right. What is your gain set at? Turn it all the way up and see if that makes a difference.

Have someone in the driver's seat and someone listening next to the trailer wheels. When you apply to the truck brakes, you should head the trailer brakes buzzing.

You could also hit a dirt road with the trailer, set the gain to 10 and then hit the brakes. Trailer wheels should easily lock up on the dirt.

Does the trailer info screen on the dash show any output when your moving and hit the brakes?
