Do a search for factory brake controller on this forum. There is a thread that gives all the info you need. And it mounts directly in the dash if I'm not mistaken. And it's simple plug and play after you take it to the dealer for the update to the computer. And it's all factory.

You don't need an update to the computer to run a brake controller.

Oh ok. Thanks for that info. I thought I read that you had to do that if installing the factory controller. That's what I plan on doing before too long.

Do you mean the 09+ factory tbc will work in an 08? I also have the 4 and 7 pin
I wanted to do this for a while now.
