Default Am I crazy or Not??

Hi all, Im new here and looking for advice. I have a 2009 150 SuperCrew4x4 5.4L. I am trying to decide if I want to Trailer my 22' Pontoon Boat to our family cabin in Maryland. This is about a 550 mile trip. It is mostly toll road/freeway with a few small roads. I have a tandem axle trailer with brakes for the boat. the farthest Ive ever pulled it was about an hour away.

Please let me know if this seems ok or am I crazy to try this.

ANY advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Matt

I cant think of a single reason not to if you have a proper hitch and brake controler or surge brakes on the trailer

I've taken mine all over the Midwest. 100s and 100s of miles in a day. It's a 25 footer.

I have a 2005 FX4 with 5.4L that my dad bought brand new in May of 2005. It has hauled a 29ft Jayco Featherlite, and 18 ft pontoon boat several times back and forth to west central NH from the Catskills with no problem (and well over 65mph). And I-90 has a couple of good hills on the west end of the Mass Pike. Just make sure you have your motor down, and it you have a transum support rod (place between motor and trailer frame to take the load off the transum) use it or rig some straps to minimize the bounceing that the engine will do on the highway.
