Like may of you, I've been looking and waiting for an alternative afordable option to the Ford Trailer back-up camera option for a 21 F-150. I ended up with a wireless back-up camera option that with a vacuum mount I placed the 7 in monitor in the lower right corner of the screen. See attached. By the way with this camera setup I can the see the traffic behind me as well as when backing up.
Our Airstream came with one from the factory and I love it for interstate driving. I mount it under my rear view mirror. It’s great for when you pass a vehicle and can clearly see when you’re passed them.
I ordered the ford version, which is not wireless. It came with the 11 way connector, plenty of wire and it is used through the normal camera system. I really like it and I can use it while driving as a rear view mirror.

Thanks for sharing this, what manufacturer and model number Trailer back-up camera do you go with?
If that’s directed at my comment, the video plays through the infotainment screen. That was the main reason I wanted to use the factory setup.
Thanks for sharing, using the infotainment screen is a plus. What did this cost, did you DIY or have them install it, if you DIY please provide some installation details?

I included in my order, which swapped the 4 pin connector on the bumper with an 11 pin. The camera itself, I had to mount and run the wires, which wasn’t too bad on my 35’ fifth wheel.
I have since swapped the 11 pin connector from the bumper into the bed, which required a wiring extender which I had order through a 3rd party.
My enclosed trailer had an option for a rear view wirelesss camera so I included it. It comes with a separate screen that I mount under my rear view mirror with a suction cup on the windshield . For me, much better solution as I can leave it on all the time while still using my truck screen for other things, in my case mostly Google maps and Spotify controls. Other than assisting when backing up, the trailer camera is invaluable for letting me know when it's safe to change lanes, much better than relying on side mirrors alone.
