Default Towing with a leveling kit.

So just purchased a 2024 eco boost with max tow and all it's missing is a leveling kit to complete the bad *** look i want. Only going with 33's. I know towing is going to suffer a little but will I need air bags? Only 6500 dry weight on trailer. 750 on the tounge. I'm hoping the equalizing hitch will be able to keep things leveled out on its own. Advise please!!!! My wife says I'm simple monded so pictures will help haha.

How much will that change ride quality when not towing?

my camper was similar to yours in terms of weight. With the WDH properly set up, it dropped the rear a solid 1.5 inches, so if you are 100% level, youd be squatting.

I added a RAS and it eliminated the squat. I think it improves the ride quality when unloaded, they actually make the claim it does. Ive known a few people with Air Bags and complain the rider is rougher with the min 5psi in the bags.

A RAS will raise the rear up though, so you will go back to a slight rake when not towing. Technically anything will bump the rear up a little (RAS, helper springs, add a leaf, bags, and so forth).

I'd do a WDH before anything else. Weigh Safe WDH

This is a leveled truck with only a WDH. Front was technically higher by about a 1/4 inch. RAS put it back to normal

My old 2020 F150 with Bilstein 5100’s set to 1.75” and 33’s.

Same exact setup after adding RAS HD and adjusting the Equalizer 4pt hitch.

Truck handled perfectly both when towing and unloaded after adding the RAS and fine tuning the WDH but was a handful prior. Here is a picture unloaded.

Very nice set up. I'm leaning towards the RAS set up I think. I haven't had the best of luck with air bags. Thanks for sharing.

Also remember the dry weight is a useless number for what you can actually tow. Use the trailer GVWR and figure about 13% of that is your actual tongue weight which will count against your payload rating. You will likely be maxed out PRIOR to leveling and adding 33’s so I would go get yourself (truck all hooked up for towing) weighed at a CAT scale before you spend any money on a level. My camper above is a 6000 GVWR trailer and I was at the max for my truck last summer when we went to Utah from Delaware. Truck did great but I couldn’t bring anything extra and actually had to leave some items at home to stay under the trucks GVWR.

Very nice set up as well. I don't have a topper so that helps but you're right I should have used GVWR but I'm pretty well under for my set up. My biggest concern was sag in the back and handling. Thanks for the info!!!
