Towing Capacity
I have a 2021 3.5 eco boost, 3.31 gears, crew cab, 4wd, and the tow tech package. I have a camper that weights 6k pounds dry. I plan on installing a RAS suspension in the next couple days. I was wondering is someone has this same set up. On the ford website it shows that the max towing is 7k.
Interstate towing at sub 70mph will be fine. Suck/Push of passing vehicles and semis is very manageable. LT-E tires helped here more than RAS did. My P tires were Hankook DynaPro HTs at 47psi cold when towing. My LT-E are Cooper Discoverer AT3s also set to 47-50psi cold when towing.
53b (class-IV hitch) tow limit of 7000lbs is not about your suspension, payload, drivetrain or powerplant. It is only about your engine and transmission cooling not being upgraded (and a stiffer front sway bar). You should have no problems with temps, that 7000 lbs rating is derived from SAE J2807 tow test which requires Ford certifying that your vehicle can haul 7000lbs up a mountain in the desert at temps at or above 100F without overheating, same for braking. While your trailer has more frontal area for wind drag, the fact that you do not live in the hot mountainous desert gives you plenty of margin.
If you use a weight distribution hitch instead of "conventional" it should be higher, I am a little surprised it is not 500 without it
