the trailer is a 33’ maple country, have not been to the scales with it but guessing 8500 lbs and around 900 toungue weight. Towed fine last year with no sway. Just looking to get rid of some of the rear sag.

I went and got a load of wood with my equipment trailer today. Trailer is ~2,700 pounds. Probably 3,000 to 4,000 pounds of wood. So 6,000 to 7,000 pound range on the trailer. Measured tongue weight was 757 when loaded. I towed this with a weight carrying hitch with a 7" ball to shank pin distance. The extra load on my rear axle should have been 1,012 pounds beyond what it is with the cap and bed mats.

My fender height decreased about 1 and 3/8". Which was enough for the Sumosprings to touch the axle and compress about 1/4".

I cannot emphasize enough how pleased I was with the performance of the rear suspension. The ride was not harsh at all, was very well controlled and up and down movement through dips was greatly reduced compared to without the sumosprings. I think the 1500 pound springs were the best choice for me. I think the 1000 pounds springs would also work well and likely would have a little more movement through the dips. Might come down to preference. I like a firm but not harsh ride.

I no longer feel any need to get different shocks. Rear end behaved perfectly.

With 1120 in the bed and the 1500# Sumo, the ride was nice and smooth, no bouncing, firm handling, so they do work very well. The only thing I didn't care for was the nose dive and rocking when I came to a stop. Not much can fix that other than revamping the entire suspension. I don't recall if my 14 did that or not, though I know it didn't do it when empty while my 16 does.

What's your front spring code? Ford has about a dozen. I'm sure you could find a coil that is just right. Mine doesn't dive or rock at all. I have the "Y" coils up front (633 pound / inch.) Then again, doesn't make much sense to keep messing with it if you plan to upgrade to an F350.

Well here is my update after the first tow with the 1000lb sumo’s. what I did like was they completely got rid of the rear end sag and they soak up the dips and bumps perfectly, as advertised. What I am not a big fan of is without the sag now the trailer is sitting too high in the nose, a little higher than level. It did tow nice and the front fender returned to unhitched height so it might take a bit of getting used to compared to last year without the sumo’s. Glad I did not go with the 1500’s.

Did you use the 1" spacers? How much does the rear suspension need to compress before the axles first touch the Sumosprings?

I did not use the spacer, so there is 1 '' of space before the sumo touches the axle. Figured it would be better for unloaded driving.

Thanks for the feedback. My Travel Trailer is lil lighter than yours so I think I'll be good to go with the 1000# Sumo Springs!

Amazon just dropped mine 1000# Sumos off. Going to wait till it cools down before installing.

How long should I budget for the install? Can I do it without removing wheels and without jacking up?
