Hello guys! My 13 the timbren ses put on by the previous owner and the ride quality is terrible, what is the difference between the timbren and the sumosprings?

Did you ever change out your Timbrens for SumoSprings? I just purchased a 14 F150 FX4 and can't decide on the Timbrens or SumoSprings. I've used Timbrens in the past for hauling our camper with 1100lbs of tongue weight with my sons '02 F250 and our '08 Avalanche, trailer had to much tongue weight for the Avalanche. The Timbrens worked great when loaded and had no adverse effect unloaded as they didn't touch until load was applied. I just recently came across the SumoSprings while researching towing with an F150. Whats drawing me to the Sumos is I think they might be softer than the Timbrens as the Sumos I'm looking at are rated for 1000lbs while the Timbrens are 6000lbs.

I love the harder timbrems. I called sumo springs since I have the HDPP 8200 gvw. This didn't tell my why but like the instructions say, you can't use it on the 8200 gvw and greater f150's. They said stick to the super spring ssa28. Only reason I suspect is that the sumo spring is to soft the higher payloads of the HDPP. So I got the 6000 lbs timbrens.

Thats good to know. As much as I would like to try the Sumos I'm concerned they maybe be to soft, I've been happy with Timbren in the past with the same trailer just going to be pulled with a F150 not a F250 now. I realize the F250 suspension is different than the F150.

I have had mine on my 2011 and my 2016. Well worth it IMO and pretty easy install

I seriously have considered them and I think they are an excellent option but I can get a set of Timbrens for $300 less and I've been happy with the Timbrens so far on 2 different vehicles and I understand the RAS takes it to another level. If I don't get Timbrens it will be RAS.

This question may of been answered (honestly) did not go threw this thread . I just received sumosprings for my f150 and wonder what amount of space I should have between axle and bottom of sumospring . They came with a 1 inch spacer if I use the spacer I will have about two inches of space needless to say 3 inch if I don't . What recommend?

I would go with the 1" spacer no question, 3" of sagging is a lot. Let us know how the Sumo's work out, unfortunately I won't be able to try my Timbren's for a few more months when camping starts up again. I was really torn between Timbren and Sumo.

I put the sumosprings on the truck today , went with the -47 (1500) ratings, anyway I ended up re-measuring the over all distance between frame and axle with truck as is (with toolboxes and basic tools) then measured sumosprings with and without spacer and attached to its mount bracket. Sumo without spacer fit in the space with a half inch to spare so I went with no spacer . Took me about an hour from start to finish including putting away my tools and washing my hands for lunch. There is a road near by that has speed bumps and these would cause my truck to bottom out at 20 mph. Today I hit them doing almost 30 mph ... smooth sailing . Initial thoughts I'm glad I bought them
