Rear shocks for towing?

Nope, not the case. The shocks aren't "soft" they just don't rebound like they should to hold the tires to the ground. In the rear this is VERY apparent as the light box will have the truck flailing all over the road when you cross tracks or hard ridges, especially on curves or angled tracks.

Just adding the 5100 to the rear plants the rear wheels and eliminates the rear end hop. The front has not been an issue, so there wouldn't be any noticeable difference. The only thing I can tell is when stopping. The OEM had just a bit more nose dip, but the 5100 still has nose dip when coming to a stop.

Down force on OEM and 5100 are pretty much the same, its the speed at which the 5100 return to full extension is what makes them better. Compress both side by side and the 5100 will extend much quicker, and thats what keeps the wheels on the ground.
