And frankly, when the V8 is as good as the coyote, exactly! But to dismiss the ecoboost seems foolish given the power and drivability.

The 5.0 Coyote has a good sized transmission cooler built into its upgraded radiator with the tow package.

Why do they use V8 engines? More power and torque with no extra internal stresses and cost effective to manufacture. The 6.2 and 7.3 V8 engines in the Super Duty have bigger bore spacing and bigger cooling jackets with cast blocks and lower internal pressures. A lot heavier duty than the ecoboost. The bigger V8 engines displace heat better and have lower required maintenance, they are built stronger than half ton engines collectively.
