I think we need a pic of the new 5th wheel! You putting the hitch in yourself or having it done? Love pulling a 5th wheel.

No pics yet murf. Just ordered it today. It is a 2013 Crusader 295RST. Hitch wise, I'm going with a 16K Reese manual slider.

Very Nice!!!! Do you have a 6.5 box? You wouldn't need a slider with that setup! I don't have cut outs in the front like you have on your camper and I've never had clearance problems. You should be able to do 90 without a problem!

Murf, ya I have the 6.5' box. Max tow/HD payload, the beast... I know I won't 'need' the slider, but I kind of want it. Just thinking ahead. That's also the reason I'm going with the 16k. This rig won't be anywhere near that weight, but if I'm overhitched now, then on the next rig I won't need to think about a hitch upgrade.

RV'ing is a series of trailer upgrades as you know

Upgrades I had contemplated going down to a pop-up so the fiance and I could take the ATV along for riding. Instead I'm putting a hitch on the back of the 5th wheel and getting an aluminum trailer. Don't know how she talked me into that.

It isn't so bad Murf, we do this every year with my dads rig when he goes South for the winter. Sometimes during the spring/summer too for those longer fishing trips.

Now this is long...

Looks fun!! Here in WI they just started allowing triple tow without a permit (this spurred my decision to buy a small trailer and will hook it up). Just need to stay below 65ft in total length and has to be a 5th wheel. You cannot triple tow with a TT in WI atleast.

They say that length limit in Illinois also but been doing it since '85. He travels all over the South and the Midwest and has never had a problem with the man. Travel on major highways only, at 60 mph max and no quick jerking of the wheel. His current setup has a total length, from bumper to prop, of right around 80'. He is sitting down in 75-80 deg weather right now while we are going under winter weather watch for tomorrow morning.
