You are correct you can still get the lariat with the HDPP package, but only in Canada.

When I build out on Fords website a f150 xlt HDPP 301a with most of the bells and whistles it actually shows a higher MSRP than an F250 xlt with the premium package and other similar add ones as the f150 (3.5 eco boost vs 6.2 gas). I know this is MSRP and depending on incentives and financing, the f250 is cheaper at first glance.

Indeed it is, and I almost bought one for my replacement to my 18 hdpp.

BUT: It was the wrong machine for my needs, which is 95% commuting and 5% towing my 24’ big block runabout and a travel trailer I’ve yet to buy. I took the 250 for a test drive, got 8.8 mpg on the lie o meter, and did not really enjoy driving it. Add in the occasional death wobble thread, and meh.

I’m very happy with my choice, despite the 55k msrp. If (when) gas shoots up again, even more so. The perfect compromise for my needs.
