I had 1500 pound ones on my 16, and had the spacer installed. All I can say is, not a good idea when empty. ALL road defects are transferred to the frame. I felt every crack in the road. If going this route, best to put ones on that do not contact the axle when empty, at least not on the 15+ trucks. I am going to reinstall them on my 18 Plat this spring, but without the spacers since I only need them when towing.

Ya I have the 1500 with no spacer, there are very few instances that they contact unless I am towing/hauling.

They are not supposed to contact the axle when unloaded. Unloaded there is supposed to be 1/2 to 1 1/2 in clearance when empty . Also part number 1504d for mine AND not the heavy duty extreme version. The spacer is not supposed to be used on a totally stock f150 unless its the HDPP like I have. I hit pot holes and speed bumps all the time and they never hit hard.

This is it, not trying to hijack this thread. Empty with the spacer I have 1 inch clearance and with 25 bags of soil from Home Depot (between 600 to 700 lbs in the bed) lower my truck. But even with that much weight in the bed, the Timbrens still didn't touch (very slight clearance still). No way empty and hitting a pothole or speed makes contact.

Instructions with the Sumo didn't state this. I just put them in with all the parts. Now I know better.

I went throght stages with my 2015, crew 5.5 bed, 2.7, 3.73.

I tow 7,000lbs camper, dump trailer 7k+ , 16ft utility 4k+(mowers), 27ft pontoon

-Front leveled: Too nose high when towing, steering felted too light
-Front leveled, airlift 5k: great towing, BUT empty was horrible( this system doesn't allow suspension to move and would bottom out system at lower psi)
-Front leveled, rear block, no bags: utility, pontoon towed good. Camper needed wdh, dump noise in air.(only tow dump short distances)
-Front leveled, rear block, airlift 2k bags: good to go with everything I tow now.

I have almost 7k miles towing with this truck and now I'm happy.

Save your $$ for camping and leave the truck stock. A truck is supposed to have a rake so it levels out under load. Leveling is all for looks with nothing gained.

Since he added a level kit to the front when he hooks up his trailer he actually ends up with reverse rake, with nose pointed to the sky.

These are all options to get the rear back to level while towing.

The best option is to restore the truck to stock and remove the level. In the first post it sounds like the OP had not installed the level yet.
