So, i have a 2011 Lariat screw WITHOUT the brake controller in the dash. I Was wondering what is it takes to install the OEM brake controller in the dash? It costs about a buck 25 on ebay, which isnt too bad. Id simply like to have the option of a brake controller on my truck. Anyone install one before? Curious as to if its plug n' play or if its more intense than that.

 

Lambo, the install should be plug and play, just be sure the controller is correct for your year truck. There is a great write up on here for the how-to. Behind the cubby hole there is a wiring Harness for the brake controller. After you install it, take it to a dealer and ask them to reflash the computer so your truck recognizes the controller. Most dealerships will have to charge a flat one hour service charge but it all depends on the dealer. Good luck

Just did it this week. Got the TBC from tousley ford online for 130, installed it in 10 mins, and Pat Milliken Ford in MI turned it on for free!
