You're going to have a hard time finding a truck with the HDPP. They are very rare, and even ordering one is a hardship.

If you really must have one, I've seen these models in company fleets in the XL variety. You might be able to get one at a company auction or sale. I've only seen one out in the wild towing a camper pretty heavy even for a F250. That's what caught my attention and while parked at the campsite, I was able to see it had 7 lugs. Even though these F150s have the HDPP, they still have hitch receivers that are 1/2 ton, maxing sometimes only at 1150 lbs. The F250s can be had with a 1250 lbs hitch receiver or upgraded to a 1400 lbs hitch receiver. Not sure, but think that the new 2017 Gassers come with the higher 1400 lbs hitch receivers like GM.

If you really need a HDPP truck, I think your best option is just go to a F250 6.2L gasser as these can be found anywhere.

Good luck.

Haha! I was looking for 2016 XLT with hdpp last summer. None anywhere. Happened upon the 2015 XL. It was apparently sitting on the lot for 6-7 months. Guess they didn't know what they had or they would have advertised. Got it almost $10,000 off msrp. Lots of rebates because 2017's were getting close to production and most people don't want an XL. I was coming from a 2004 Tundra with a 6 cylinder. It had no cruise control or power windows. An XL feels like luxury to me!

Yeah I hear that. I was hunting for that in my search too but one never came up. I really did want to stick with XLT though. Kinda my "just right" between too spartan and too dang expensive.

That payload is outrageous man. 1.5 tons and change. Nice!

I have a 2013 HDPP 5.0. When I bought mine the dealer had 2 on the lot. Another dealership 20 miles away had 2 also and the always seem to have 1 or 2 of them every couple of months.
I do see the 7 lugs out there at least once a month driving. Having one I guess in I can spot them easier.

Lucky for you...where are you located?

I'd been looking for months here in SLC and checked out 3 or 4 that said they had the HDPP...but didn't before I found mine..
