Default Gear upgrade time!!!

So I purchased my truck without as much research as I should have done in the forefront and bought a 2017 this past winter during inventory clear out. It had everything I wanted except the gears and the 9.75 pumpkin....
So now I'm looking to upgrade as we have a 7x16' cargo trailer, a boat, and we're looking at a no more than 20' pull behind camper....as well as I recently upgraded my stock wheels and tires for some 2017/18 Raptor Takeoffs....
So upgrading from 3.31s on my 5.0 six speed I'm considering a 4.10 gear....I drive the truck on the weekends and when I get a spur to drive it during the weekends or when I need to tow or haul.... Sometimes highway trips....since my upgrade in tire size... I'm considering 4.10's. Thoughts, comments or concerns???

.410s are gonna be a bit more aggressive than you want unless you're upping tire size a lot?
3.55's should be more than fine, maybe 3.73's.

I'm currently running 34.5's or somewhere around there. Upgrading to that side has made a significant change or from what I can tell 🤷🏻*♂️.

If you're running a tire that's 34 or greater, I'd go with 4.10's. The 3.73's would give you a nice performance boost, but the 4.10's will be even better. The only thing you'll notice with 3.55's is the missing money. You'll give up a little fuel economy so don't try to fool yourself about that, but the performance boost is significant. On my son's '05 (used to be mine) I put 35's on it and 4.56's, along with an Eaton TrueTrac. It still cruises 75-80 just fine and spins BOTH tires nicely on a hard launch. The older 4-speed has a tall 1st and 2nd so it needs the lower gears. With your tires and higher top gear, 4.10 will not be excessive. I've re-geared several trucks over the years and have learned that it's better to err on the low side than the high. For example, if you determined that 4.30 was perfect but unavailable (like me with the '05) then go 4.56 rather than 4.10. You'll be glad you took the plunge. Buy name-brand US made gears. The Chinese cheapies aren't worth the risk of having to do the job over if you get a poorly lapped/noisy set. You'll need to get a tuner to get the speedo corrected, but they're not that expensive. You're probably going to hear that a "good" tuner will do everything you want (performance wise) without the labor and expense of gears but there is only one one way to overcome the effects of tall/heavy tires, and that's mathematically.

I'm looking to do the same thing when I get raptor take-offs. I believe it should put you about the same as having a 3.73 stock which is what I'm going for! I say take the plunge! The only question is Yukon 4.11s or ford racing 4.09 out back and 4.10 up front?

Keep us posted how you like them! Also just a fyi since the parts guys a dealers sometimes aren't the brightest, the gear you would need for the super 8.8 will be the 4.09 from ford performance. It's perfectly fine to run it with the 4.10 front gear (less than 1% difference), but if you tell them 4.10 they might not know what you are talking about.

have you talked to a dealer already? There have been a few posts saying they wont do it on 2015+ trucks because you cant do it without a tuner to go in and change the gears in the computer.

I spoke with the dealer I purchased the truck from and they said they could. 🤷🏻*♂️
