Default Front tow hook question

Just purchased a 2014 F150 Ecoboost about a week ago. Planning to grab a good tow strap to have on hand just in case I see someone needing some help or in case I need it.

It looks to me like the front tow hooks were either removed or were never on the truck and the push bar we installed in their place. Does that look correct? If so what are my options? The tow bar looks pretty strong but not sure it is strong enough to hook a tow strap around the bottom.

Yes, tow hooks go there. Pushbar is not very useful.

One of the things that made my choice on grill guards, keeping the tow hooks.
Do some measurements on your truck and a similar one with tow hooks to see if you have clearance to fit the hooks on.

It looks like the tow hooks might go back in there. But you may need longer bolts. The hidden winch mounting plate I installed used those same holes. I had to remove the hooks to do the instillation, but they went back

Ya, I wouldn't hook anything to that push bar. You can get aftermarket hooks on fleabay pretty cheap. Based on your picture, you might even get away with current bolts you have.

Remember there is difference between "tow straps " and "****** straps ". For vehicle recovery ****** straps are the ones you want.

Whoever installed the pushbar ditched the tow hooks. The bolts are long enough to put factory hooks back on, even with the pushbar. Tow hooks can be found anywhere.

width of the tow hook loops was my concern against the brush guard angle iron uprights.

If the plan is to pull someone or something with a strap, you'd be better off pulling from the rear anyway. You can get hook on a drawbar that slides into your trailer hitch and away you go.

Yea, like they are saying, tow hooks should be there. Whoever installed the brushguard didn't put them back on. Nice looking truck by the way. I have a Go Rhino Brushguard on my truck. My tow hooks were reinstalled below the brackets of the brushguard. Does your brushguard have upper supports? I can't tell in the picture. Mine has them. The brackets go thru to the frame above the bumper. Here are a few pics of mine. Hope they help you out.
Picture with Brushguard.

This is the only pic I could find that shows the tow hooks. I cropped the pic a little so you can see them better.

I cropped in a little closer on the tow hook.
