Draw-Tite used to be one of my favorites but I don't know who builds what anymore. I've bought my last 4-5 trucks with the max. available towing packages factory installed.

Reese and Draw-Tite are owned by the same company.

Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure it's Cequent Industries, who also owns Lippert Chassis. You know, the company who builds all those failing 5th wheel frames.
Edit -- I just looked at Cequent and didn't find Lippert. Maybe that's not their debacle.

Curt is replacing on a good faith this one time and said I'm overloaded. I've asked to show me based on my trailer GVW that I'm overloaded. Hopefully this next one is quality and won't fail the same

The fact that they haven't seen something like this in 30 years lends even more to the fact that it's likely a one-off manufacturing defect of some sort. No idea why they hemmed and hawed so much about a warranty replacement, pretty obnoxious.

Yea, hopefully the next one is good. More than likely it will be. They want this one back which is surprising. Shipping 2 ways won't be cheap.

IMHO something like this shouldn't be overlooked and I'm guessing they want it back to check for QA and/or for research. Glad they came through for you though.

I hope this is only crack paint but install new one then hooked up to look at wdh setup. Took hitch out and I hope this isn't a crack already. I've attacjed, lowered, raised for bar and then lowered to measure. Revese to remove and looked and it seems like a crack to me.

Weigh your trailer tongue.
