Default Determine Tow Package

I recently bought a 2016 Platinum Long Bed with the 3.5l EB. I'm trying to figure out if it has a towing package or not. It has all the factory trailering options and electronics I imagine can exist including a factory trailer brake controller. I know the trailer brake controller was part of the 53C tow package and not part of the lower 53A or B but am not sure if it could have been added as a stand alone option or part of another package. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I must be doing something wrong. I copied and pasted your link into my browser bar and entered the VIN behind it and it keeps saying the window sticker hasn't been released yet. I did see my trans cooler and I have a 36 gallon tank so I'm going to go ahead and assume it's got the 53C tow package.

That window sticker link has not worked for a few years now.....
Suggestion is to go to a dealer they can get it for you but will probable charge for it...that way you will know all options added to your trk @ time of original purchase...
Also you can compare your GVW rating (from your door post sticker)....compare that to a base rated truck & you will answer your own question..

The GVWR is the top end 7050lbs. This thing has to have the max package. It's got fancy trailer settings. It will be interesting to see how heavy it will let you save a trailer as if weight is one of the variables.

Post a pic of your receiver and we can tell you if you have the Max Tow. The safety chain "ears" are at an angle on the Max Tow receiver. They are straight on the others.

Yes, the factory OEM trailer brake controller (TBC) was part of 53C Max Tow Pkg, but optional with 53A "heavy duty" tow pkg.

The 36-gallon gas tank was an option on the Platinum without max tow.

And the receiver hitch is different for max tow than for regular tow. But the center "reinforcement" part of the rear bumper that includes the receiver is replaceable, so someone could replace the center reinforcement with the max tow receiver instead of the regular tow receiver.

So if your F-150 has both the TBC and the 36-gallon gas tank, and even if it has the max tow receiver, the only sure way to determine whether you have the regular "heavy duty" tow pkg or the max tow pkg is to have your dealer put the VIN of your truck into the big Ford computer in the sky and print out the "build sheet" for your truck. Or find the original window sticker for your F-150. (The on-line VIN lookup source is not very reliable.)

So I've confirmed: Trans Cooler, 36 gallon Tank, Brake controller, 3.55 axle, 4-pin/7-pin, Class IV, trailer hitch receiver, Smart Trailer Tow Connector, Pro Trailer Backup Assist. But.... looking at my hitch and pics I found of the max tow hitch I just have the regular trailer tow hitch which is still a class 4 hitch with a maximum 1000lb vertical rating. So 1000/.13= ~7700lbs. I'm good with that although it only leaves me 510lbs of me and stuff in the truck. Guess I better start eating more salads.

I meant a different kind of slant. That is the standard receiver. You do not have Max Tow. Max Tow bumper support is the one on the bottom.
