A three year old travel trailer for free! That’s almost worth buying a new used truck
Your truck, assuming properly maintained and no serious rust, should be fine towing that trailer. Forget the dry weight, figure you’ll be closer to GVWR when camping. IMO, most people have to be extremely careful to only use 1/2-2/3 of the trailer’s Cargo Capacity.
Are you getting a weight distributing hitch with it? Download the hitch manual to properly go through the hitch setup.
Make sure the brake controller you buy is marked “progressive”. No, it’s not made by Socialists It has an accelerometer in it to lessen brake pressure as you slow down, cost about $125 or so. The other cheaper type is time based, applying more brake pressure the longer the brake lights are on. They tend to really overheat on hills, learned the hard way.

Yes inherited from mother in law and the trucks in good shape. It’s been well maintained and I will probably upgrade next year. I am having an brake control installed next week and a weight distribution hitch.
