It should not even be involved with that system. Id ask them to review that harness they supplying. And replace it.

FYI... I just was quoted $360 to install the factory one in a STX model truck. The wiring is all there. Its a plug and play. Here is how it broke down...

Part $150 (iirc a buck or two less but close)
Install 1 hour
program 1 hour.

Total $360

Thats how it was told to me. A bit high but it does have to be programmed and I think because of how it all works that $360 is well spent.

FWIW, the part is $110. It takes 5 minutes to install in the dash. You can activate it with Forscan for the price of a bluetooth obd2 connector and forscan's free software. Grand total: ~$150.
