Aftermarket brake controller 2019 f150
Anyone know of any issues with a Tekonsha brake controller causing the windshield mounted camera, which controls pre collision and auto high beams, to malfunction?

I bought the truck as a leftover with 9k in rebates. Didn’t have factory controller but had the plug plugged into the dummy box that the controller fits in. So I said no biggie I can plug in my own which I have found to be better than the factory ones on previous trucks. No wiring needed. Plug and play. After 400 miles the code popped. Brought to dealer. After 9 days they told me it was the camera and replaced. No issues in 2000 miles. Hooked up to the trailer for the semiconductor time since replacement and code threw within a half hour. So I figure it’s gotta have something to do with the controller when it’s hooked to a trailer. Just not sure what controller would have to do with the camera function. It’s a 2019 F-150 xlt. So only does pre collision warning and high and low beams.

The ITBC is now better than the best aftermarket controllers. Uses the trailer brakes to assist with sway control, reduces braking effort when ABS kicks in. Dash notifications when clearance, turn, brake line or aux line connections or parts fail.

X2 on OEM trailer brake controller. I was using a Tekonsha trailer brake controller while I was waiting for the OEM BC to come in from back order. Once I install the OEM BC - notice a huge difference between the two. OEM wins hands down.

I have the Tekonsha controller and it does not interfere with any electronics in the truck.

When I hooked up my aftermarket BC - I used an adapter from the Trucks OEM BC plug to the aftermarket BC and there were only 4 wires - power +/-, brake input, and brake output (blue wire to trailer brakes). I dont see how that would cause any problems. Did you do something similar or did you splice the wires yourself?

I plugged straight into the harness. The plug was plugged into the dummy box where the oem controller would sit. Unplugged and plugged into my aftermarket controller. Didn’t cut anything. Plug and play. I to have the adapter for an aftermarket. Came with truck. Didn’t think I needed it considering the harness was readily available to plug into
