Default 3.73 to 4.10-anybody do this?

I was just wondering if anyone has went from a 3.73 to a 4.10. If you have, have you noticed any difference in anything? I know the engine revs higher and stays in higher revolutions. Is it worth the expense to do this on a 150? I'll be towing at least 15 times a year, between 7 miles and 3000 miles. Thanks.

It will impact your regular MPG more than any gains towing will give you. 3.73 gears are probably the best suited for the 1/2 ton in what their towing capacity is. 4.10 gearing is more suited for 1 tons that tow heavy loads all the time. I had an F350 that I swapped the 4.10 gears for 3.73 gears and the truck ran better, and got better fuel economy.

The only true reason for going to the shorter gears is if you are going with larger wheels and tires to get the engine back into its cruising range of 1600-1800 RPM at 60 MPH.

such a small jump either go to 4.56 or stay at 3.73 its 500 rpm or less thur the gears difference and at 1800- 2200 dollars unless ur going big tires id opt to spent 400 on a tuner and custom tunes
